Cardiff is a compact city making it very easy to get around – everything can be accessed on foot, by bike or using public transport. All our houses are within close walking distance of the city centre and the majority of academic buildings. If you are bringing a car, then parking in residential streets in the main student areas (Cathays and Roath) is usually operated under the council permit scheme (though there are pockets of non-permit parking). Permits are not expensive and are easy to get hold of. Just make sure to plan ahead if you want to park from the first day in your new home. For students in our Adamsdown student house (ideal for the ATRiuM and Newport Road) there is free, non-permit parking right outside your front door, and it’s always easy to get a space.
